Josh laughed as he shook his head "yeah you did... today" he said with a slight smile like he was planning for something - which of course he wasn't his mind was blank, he couldn't think of anything funny right now.
"ah, I see, so I take it Im not trustworthy?" he asked curiously as he gazed at her eyes and tried his hardest to keep them on her eyes and not move them down. He watched her drift further out, and then diving under and then back up - he couldn't help but chuckle at the sudden shock of coldness that struck when she came back up. are you alright?, did he not look perfectly fine? he gazed down at his reflection and smiled as he dived under and swam towards her, but no too close though; he then bobbed his head out. "Yeah, Im fine" he said with a nod as he watched her.

Today? She had won for today? Oh boy. Did this mean that she needed to have her smart remarks in check every time and be ready to throw out another one here and there to counter his? Hm… right now she welcomed the challenge, but as long as things did not get too far out of hand. Sometimes smart remarks like those could get somebody in trouble or the other person would sometimes snap and it just was not a pretty sight. Speaking of pretty sights… ’No… get away from those thoughts again,’ she scolded herself once again. This boy was going to be dangerous to her mental health it seemed. To her, he was the first boy that even seemed to show the slightest bit of interest in her. It made her feel… strange, nervous, you name it. She just was not used to it and only daydreamed about this stuff normally. Her meandering thoughts were once again drawn back to Josh when he asked if he was not trustworthy.
She paused for a moment, not sure of how to say her reply. Trusting easily was something she found herself doing sometimes, but at this point, she had only known the guy for what? A few minutes? Sighing, she rolled her eyes and smiled slightly. ”Alright, I suppose you’re not that bad.” She was kidding of course- he wasn’t bad at all. Even though he definitely wasn’t bad at all, she moved away and ducked under the water before bringing herself back up. Curious of his well-being, she asked and laughed a little when he swam towards her and came up. ”Good,” she said and brought her hand up to pat his head before saying ”Tag- you’re it,” and giggling before she dove under water to try and swim passed him. She had always been a faster swimmer underwater, but she couldn’t see and swimming to the shore would allow her to watch him and be able to move around more easily when she could actually touch the bottom. Needing air and feeling that she could stand up and move around and away from Josh, she brought her head out of the water and wiped her eyes, searching for him.

Josh laughed as he shook his head, at least he wasn't bad he thought "You're not that bad yourself" he said sarcastically, of course he wanted to say all the things that cam to his mind, but he didn't want to risk getting screamed at by her.
He placed his hands on his hips and waded, out of no where she tapped him on the head tag - your it, he chuckled at the childish game, but he was willing to have some childish fun with her. He watched as she dove under the water and disappeared - she was indeed a good swimmer, he was impressed; Josh was fairly good, but not first place material. Josh watched her go over to the shore line, he gave a smirk as he sunk low underneath the water and disappeared, he swam his way over and tapped her ankle "Tag, your it" he said laughing as he stood up and ran onto the sand, with a wide grin, he stood waiting for her.

”Yep,” she started out saying enthusiastically to his sarcasm, ”I’m actually pretty darn good if I do say so myself.” At this, she grinned even if her cheeks flushed. This bantering she had only really done with her friends when they were out having fun and never really around a guy where she felt like she could not back up what she said. There might have been certain undertones he could have picked up in what she said, but she tried to ignore that part and forget she had said something like that. Ky was a good girl to anyone back home who knew her. Only about three of her friends knew another side of her that she was determined to keep from others. She quite liked her “good, quiet, smart” girl reputation she had going for her. Sure this was a new place where she could start over, but her shyness kept her rather reserved for now. Let’s just say that reading some of her mom’s romance novels (her mom knew she was reading them) gave her some ideas here and there, but she was never really confident enough to try them out.
On to more important matters… Josh had disappeared. When she felt something touch her ankle, she flinched- worried. No sharks, right? She was relieved however when Josh popped up and told her she was it. That touch on her ankle had been him; it was not some dangerous sea animal. Gee, who would have thought you could have learned something from that oceanography teacher last year? That class had been so boring. Right now she was having fun though and moved to follow him. With her height she had to wait before she could actually run through the water and towards the boy currently standing on the sand waiting for her. As she got closer she slowed her pace to a walk in hopes to confuse him a little. Trying to corner him on a beach like this was not possible, but maybe she could get close enough to him before he decided to run and she could sprint to tag him. Tennis camp from the other week made them do suicides and she was in shape, so this should be no problem to tag him. If he moved to one side then she would follow him and if moved to the other she would mimic his movements until he finally started to run and she would sprint after him. Only one little problem: suicides at that camp were done with a sports bra. ’Crap,’ she thought, ’this might not work out after all.’ She should have just went with a once piece today instead of a bikini.

Josh watched her slow down, did she run out of breath? nah, he thought - a sly smirk appeared he shook his head and ran slow, watching her. He didn't care whether she got him or not because it was fun. He stood wading in the water as he watched her, waiting for her to catch - he wanted to know what she would do if he ran?.
Josh turned around to face the ocean - it was a magnificent pool of water, he could spend all week here if he could; but no he had better things to do then hang around in the sun all day. He remembered Kyla and quickly turned around to make sure that she wasn't gonna try and sneak up on him - although he'd probably end up in the sand scared, he laughed to himself at the thought. He turned back and stepped out further until it was knee deep, he watched everyone around him, he spotted a few old men in speedos which made him wanna vomit, 'damn budgie smugglers' he thought with a silent laugh.

Finding her chance to sneak up on him, Ky drew herself closer and used various people to hide behind here and there. In one particular moment, she had froze as she saw him turn around, but it did not look he had spotted her. Exhaling at the relief that her surprise attack was not ruined, her feet started moving again towards the current target. A smile was on her face and she quickened her pace as she moved even closer. Taking a chance, she moved close enough and attempted to place her hands over his eyes. ”Guess who,” she said with a laugh before even attempting to bring her hands back. When she had drawn closer to him, she made sure that if any part did touch him it was her arms and hands and nothing else. She could try tickling his sides, but she kept her hands to herself this time. Maybe he didn’t like people being behind him either? Taking a breath, she tilted her head slightly before speaking.
”So… I guess this makes you it, but… want to do something else?” By now Kyla was feeling more comfortable around him and did not advert her eyes when she was speaking to him. Her eyes did move to the sky afterwards and then to the beach around them. Oh! She had to remember to get her stuff when she was done hanging out at the beach. Heck, she wouldn’t be able to leave without her car key. When she was thinking of this she tried searching for the area she placed her things, but found that there were people blocking her view. As long as her things were still there later she would be fine and returned her gaze back to Josh. ”What do you say?” Quickly she added in, ”Ah, but you don’t have to. If you need to leave or something then go ahead- don’t let me hold you back.” Someone like him certainly had other places to be and she was just some new girl after all.

Josh bit his lip when his eyes were covered "Hmm.. I wonder.." he laughed as she removed them, he turned to face her with a smile, he did indeed enjoy her company - it was better then anyone's, although he had a soft spot for his puppy, but shh.. he doesn't like to show weakness.
Wanna go do something else? he pretended to think for a second, acting like he had a lot to think about - which he clearly didn't as he was at the beach by himself, his friends were else doing god knows what with god knows who. He shook his head once "Sure, why not; what did you have in mind?" he asked curiously as he shifted back to give her space. Ah, but you don’t have to. If you need to leave or something then go ahead- don’t let me hold you back, she was indeed very sweet, but he had no plans, why? because he needs a break every once in awhile - all the partying he does must kill some brain cells every so often. "No, i don't need to be anywhere else, unless.. you want me to pretend that I need to go?" he said joking around with her, he gently nudged her arm in a playful manner as he laughed.

What did she have in mind? Um… she was clueless. ”I really don’t know. I don’t know what’s around, I’m new here- remember?” At the end she had a smile on her face, a little teasing to his memory capacity. Anyway, she honestly really was not sure what to do. She supposed she could just go home or something if they couldn’t think of something to do. All she had with her clothing wise was her bikini top and bottom, her shorts, and her tank top. If you included shoes, then she had her flip flops. This morning when she was getting ready (of course she left makeup out of the process) she planned on going to the beach, but she had not planned on going anywhere else. All she thought would happen was a few hours chilling at the beach, swimming, and perhaps meeting someone- if even that. Already she could check off her list of what she was planning to do out of the house today. When she went home she would be greeted by boxes to unpack, things to put away, and probably an empty house all to herself. Normally any teenager would love an empty house, but the loneliness finally caught up to her.
At the notion of being lonely again, Ky did a repeat of saying, ”No!” Hadn’t they already established something like this before? Trying to regain her composure and cover up her slight out-burst, Ky went on to say something else. ”Uhm uh… I mean,” she all but stammered at first, ”alright, so I’ll admit it: I kind of like your company.” Her stammering had stopped and by the time he nudged her and laughed, she blushed again at her ramblings because she realized he was only joking. Wondering if she could divert some attention from her ramblings, she dared to speak something else. ”And I lied earlier; your ass is totally worth looking at.” Laughing with a blush because she couldn’t believe she said that, Ky stuck her tongue out in a childish manor at her playful remark.

Josh smiled bluntly "Oh yeah, I forgot about that" he said as he scratched his head as he looked around "Well.. do you have any specifics of what you wanna do?" he asked trying not to sound confusing although his words confused him.
Josh jumped back playfully "Oh?" he smirked, so he guessed they were friends? he was fine with that, as long as he got a hug at the end of each day - which he always did from all of his other girl friends. Joshes jaw dropped in his mind And I lied earlier; your ass is totally worth looking at, he knew she was being sarcastic.. but still. He smiled and raised an eyebrow as he turned around and bent over, placing his hands on his knees and shaking his ass in front of her "You likey?" he winked at her as he stood up and turned back around he couldn't help but notice her pink cheeks - sunburn? possibly or was she blushing? he couldn't tell, but whatever the case "Your pink cheeks look adorable" he said with a slight smile.

”Nope,” she said as she popped the ‘p’ before speaking again. ”I have no idea. I just know that I don’t want to get lost around here, I don’t have any money on me, and I will freeze if I go in an air-conditioned store with a wet bathing suit and clothes.” And yeah, at the current moment that was all she knew. The last thing she needed was to be catching a cold. Sure she could try to dry off herself and her bathing suit with her towel, but her everything including her hair would be damp. Speaking of hair… if she wanted it to at least dry a little sooner, she needed to get the excess water out. Taking her hands, she pulled her hair into one hand as if she was going to make a ponytail, but brought her hair around and twisted it. Water began to drop and trail down her arms as she squeezed the water out. That was one of the things about thick hair- it took forever to dry on its own.
Still laughing, Kyla only began to laugh harder when Josh bent over. She squealed a little in surprise and turned herself to the side and covered her eyes. ”Oh my god- my eyes- it’s too much! My poor innocent eyes!” She was still laughing and laughing hard enough that she wasn’t making a sound. ’Oh my god, I can’t believe he just did that!’ She was screaming in head, shocked he would do something like that, but nevertheless laughing. Between the embarrassing moment, her laughing, and the sun, Ky felt very warm and it only intensified when she brought her hands after calming down to hear Josh comment on her cheeks. ”Ah! You’re making me blush- stop it!” She was teasing of course and liked a compliment, but still… In response to his comment, she had brought her hands back up to hide her face.

Josh shook his head, he had no clue to what they should do, maybe take her back to his place? nah, she'll probably freak out run off, he pondered on the thought but shook his head, he had no other ideas.
Josh smiled "haha, you know you liked it" he poked his tongue out as he stretched, watching her laugh hysterically. "Can't help it, if I see a pretty girl; I must tell them what I think" he winked at her as he gazed around, he looked over towards the direction of his home, his 'shack' it was pretty cozy and well tidy - he never brought his friends over, the reason for this was pretty simple, he liked things kept clean, they didn't not gonna work - he'd probably end up getting into an unnecessary argument with one of them. "Im curious, if i was to invite you somewhere would come?" he asked biting his lip,

Shaking her head in denial despite the smile on her face, Kyla retorted with a, ”No, because that was a little too much to enjoy.” Then he just had to go and compliment her, causing her to blush, and cover up her face to hide. As he spoke about not being able to help himself, she looked at him through her fingers to hide her still warm cheeks. Through her fingers she also caught his wink and closed her fingers to hide again. See no evil, right? It was only a few seconds later when her fingers parted once more to see what Josh was up to. When she noticed that Josh was not looking at her, she took her hands away from her face. Instead of her arms staying by her sides, she brought them to cross around her stomach in a position she felt was comfortable. During the time of silence is when she looked down at the sand and tried to brainstorm up any ideas of what they could possibly do next.
Hearing Josh speaking up again Kyla’s eyes gazed back up from looking at the sand as she pondered different ideas. He was curious, huh? Wait, if he invited her somewhere? How long had it been since she was actually invited someplace by someone? Too long and this included get-togethers, parties, and even a day out with a group of her circle of “friends”. She wondered where he could possibly invite her to, but she nodded anyway and looked up at him. ”Yeah, probably… why?” More importantly, why her? That is what she really wanted to ask because well- she never really got invited to anything. It brought her back to her friends back home and she wondered if they were even her friends in the first place. Wanting to get away from that thought process, Ky brought up her hand to brush her bangs and strands of damp hair away from her face before focusing on Josh once again.

Josh laughed, as she hid behind her hands - he was more than curious as to why she was hiding behind her hands "Why are you hiding? I want to see your gorgeous face" he smiled thoughtfully, hoping she'd remove them for him.
"Oh, just wondering, I was gonna ask you if you wanted to come chill at mine?" he stared at the ground for a bit whilst he waited for her answer, he was nervous or shy or anything, but he didn't want to make her uncomfortable by staring at her all the time. Josh moved his gaze from the sand to the people around him, why were they always at the beach? most of them were bright red, like a tomato; he laughed at his own inside joke - he quickly recovered by clearing his throat, he glanced from side to side waiting patiently. He looked at Kyla and smiled at her.

Why she was hiding? She was blushing- that’s why! It was rather embarrassing to her because well… he was a rather good looking guy who was actually hanging out with her. Getting attention from guys was simply something she was not used to and quite frankly, she did not know what to do sometimes. He kept complimenting her too and while girls liked compliments, she was not quite sure she deserved them. She removed her hands however and smiled shyly at the compliment, but she was not able to look him in the eyes.
She had asked why he was wondering if he invited her anywhere if she would go. Her answer to the question came and she shrugged. ”Well if you don’t try anything funky, then I don’t see why not.” By agreeing to go to his place she was putting a lot of trust into this friendly relation or whatever this was in a short span of time and she knew that. She knew what she was risking because after all, Josh still was very much male (she appreciated that fact plenty of times already) and they were still pretty much just acquaintances. Oh well. God help her if anything horrible were to happen. Josh did not seem like a bad person and she felt like she owed him a little something because she was appreciative that he had came up and spoke to her in the first place. ”I have to go get my things first though and uh… how will we get there? My car is parked further up from the beach.” Hopefully he would get the idea that she needed to figure out how to deal with her car. She could drive to his place and what not if she needed to… wherever his place was. Kyla began heading off to her belongings soon after speaking and once there, she shook her towel up, tucked it around her, and grabbed her things. If they ended up having to leave the sandy area then she would put on her flip flops eventually. Either way, she was ready to follow his lead back to his place.

Josh tilted his head as she removed her hands "AH, there we go" he said with a smile. He hadn't really figured out why she was acting so er... around him, he felt like being a dick and saying something stupid but he soaked up the silence.
"Funky? Im not a douche like that" he said with a smile but in a serious manner; he wasn't going to try anything, he wouldn't unless she wanted him to, which clearly she didn't and he was fine with that. He walked up with her and turned around as she collected her things, after she had collected them, he smirked "Its just over there" he pointed towards a bunch of beachside shacks, "not that far from here, and if it gets dark by the time you wanna get home, I'll walk you to your car" he said in a friendly gesture. Josh felt his board shorts slipping, he quickly pulled them back up "and then I shall change into something more.. me?" he said poking his tongue out. "Oh and you can borrow my hair dryer if you want" he added as he looked up at the sky.
